LONDON, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Manchester City will face Watford in the FA Cup final, while Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier League after another packed weekend of football in England.

Gabriel Jesus' fourth minute goal from a Kevin de Bruyne pass was enough to take Pep Guardiola's side to their second final of the season in the FA Cup semifinal on Saturday.

Manchester City were below their best, but that was still too good for Brighton, who only rarely gave a hint that they could level the score and the result keeps alive City's hopes of winning four major titles (Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Champions League) this season.

There will be two Spanish coaches on the dugouts in the final after Xavi Gracia's Watford booked their first cup final appearance since 1984 as they fought back from 2-0 down to claim a thrilling 3-2 win against Wolves.

The Wolves looked to be on track for a comfortable win after Matt Doherty and Raul Jimenez, who last week signed a permanent deal with the club, put them 2-0 up.

However Gerard Deulofeu pulled a goal back in the 79th minute and Troy Deeney leveled the score from the penalty spot in the fourth minute of injury time, before Deulofeu's second of the game saw Watford through in extra time.

The weekend kicked off on Friday with Liverpool moving ahead of Manchester City in the Premier League with a hard-fought 3-1 win away to Southampton.

Liverpool striker Sadio Mane had commented during the week that his side needed to win their six remaining matches to lift the title and things got difficult when Shane Long opened the scoring for Southampton.

Naby Keita equalized before the break, but it wasn't until the last 10 minutes that Mohamed Salah and Jordan Henderson assured Liverpool three vital points.

Sunday saw Everton bring an end to Arsenal's impressive recent form thanks to a 10th minute goal from veteran defender Phil Jagielka.

The goal keeps Everton in the fight to finish second, but is an important setback for Arsenal's top-four ambitions.

Saturday's league matches all produced away wins with Crystal Palace effectively ending any relegation worries with a 1-0 win away to Newcastle United, which was their first win at St James' Park in nine visits.

Leicester took advantage of already relegated Huddersfield to claim their fourth win in five games since Brendan Rodgers took over as coach. Jamie Vardy was on target twice in the 4-1 victory to help Leicester move up to seventh - which would earn them a place in next season's Europa League if Manchester City win the Cup.

Burnley also took a big step towards safety with a 3-1 win away to Bournemouth. Ashley Barnes opened the scoring for Bournemouth with a fourth-minute own goal, but was on hand to secure three vital points for Burnley with a 56th minute strike after Chris Wood and Ashley Westwood had turned the score around with goals in the 18th and 20th minute.
