LA PAZ, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Bolivia will begin its preparations for the FIFA World Cup playoffs with a friendly against Jordan next month, the Bolivian Football Federation (FBF) said on Thursday.
The match will be played in Türkiye - at a venue yet to be confirmed - on October 10, according to an FBF statement. The South American team will meet Russia in another previously confirmed friendly in Moscow four days later.
On Tuesday, Bolivia beat Brazil 1-0 in El Alto to secure a place in the intercontinental playoff tournament, to be played in Mexico next March.
Oscar Villegas' team will vie for one of two places on offer against two teams from North, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) as well as one each from the African, Asian and Oceania confederations.
Bolivia is seeking its first appearance at the World Cup finals since the 1994 tournament in the United States. ■
