MONTEVIDEO, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Uruguay will play Mexico and the United States in November friendlies as part of its preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) said on Thursday.
The Celeste will meet Mexico in Torreon on November 15 and the United States in Tampa three days later, the AUF said.
The entity had earlier announced October friendlies against the Dominican Republic in Kuala Lumpur and Uzbekistan in Melaka.
Uruguay secured its place at football's showpiece by finishing fourth in the South American qualifiers, earning a fifth consecutive World Cup appearance dating back to South Africa in 2010.
Marcelo Bielsa's side closed its campaign with a goalless draw against Chile in Santiago on Tuesday. ■
