DAMASCUS, July 23 (Xinhua) -- A humanitarian aid convoy operated by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) entered the southern city of Sweida, the namesake provincial capital, on Wednesday, delivering essential supplies to civilians affected by recent violence, according to state news agency SANA.

The convoy crossed into Sweida through the humanitarian corridor at Busra al-Sham in the eastern countryside of Daraa province, according to the report.

The shipment included 66 tonnes of flour, 4,000 food baskets, 10,000 bottles of drinking water, and fuel tankers intended to support displaced families and areas suffering shortages due to the recent clashes between Druze fighters and Bedouin tribesmen.

It marks the second aid delivery to reach Sweida in recent days as humanitarian organizations step up efforts to address the growing needs of communities uprooted by the violence. ■
