ROME, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Massimiliano Allegri has returned to AC Milan for a second spell as head coach, the Serie A powerhouse confirmed on Friday, just one day after Sergio Conceicao's exit.
The Rossoneri announced Conceicao's departure on Thursday following a disappointing campaign that saw the club finish eighth in the league and miss out on European competition next season.
Allegri began his first stint at AC Milan in 2010, leading the club to its 18th Scudetto in his debut season, followed by the Italian Super Cup in 2011. He left the club in 2014.
From 2014 to 2019, and again from 2021 to 2024, Allegri managed Juventus, guiding the Bianconeri to five Serie A titles and five Coppa Italia trophies.
According to Italian media, the 57-year-old has signed a two-year deal with Milan, with an option for a third year.
Also on Friday, Serie A side Fiorentina announced the departure of head coach Raffaele Palladino by mutual consent. ■
